• Question: do you believe in aliens ????

      Hi jpkw2k11 and 08bowmanl. Absolutely believe that there could be life on other planets, but I don’t believe that little green-skinned guys visit the earth regularly on vacation. But alien life? Sure. My money is on bacteria. They are incredibly adaptable, and can live in all sorts of extreme environments – pretty much everywhere on earth we look for them, we find them, even at extremely high or low temperatures, or in concentrations of acid or base that would eat our flesh away. Pretty versatile things.

      I believe that there is probably some other forms of life somewhere else in the universe but I don’t think tehy look anything like the aliens on TV or in the movies. They are probably something simple like bacteria or slime!!
      I also don’t believe that aliens have visited hear on planet earth. If they had, surely they would say hello!!

      I’d like to think there are aliens because I’m sure they’d be interesting, but I think that if they do exist we’d probably never find each other in the vastness of space.

      Yes i do!! And that’s just not becaues i’m a scifi fan! It’s also because i think it unlikely that we are the only life too evolve in the universe. Can the conditions on earth really be so unique that life would not be able to start anywhere else? Is that really so special???
      It’s starting to become clear that earth really isn’t special at all. A recent clue is the number of planets scientists have found around other stars. So far after only 15 years, and with the detection being really difficult, 500 such planets have been found. Latest estimates say that there are bilions and billions of planets around other stars, and probably millions of earth like planets
      So yes aliens do exist i believe, although don’t i don’t expect little green men to appear on my doorstep any time soon! It’s a bit far to travel!
