      Hi Whiteley (Innit)
I think there is so much evidence now for the Big Bang theory of how the universe started, that it’s difficult to see where god would fit in. Once the Universe had been created then everything after that would have happened simply according to the laws of physics, including the creation of the Earth.

      Hi whiteleyinnit,
I believe in the ‘big bang’ theory which says that earth and everything else in the universe is the result of a very large explosion and release of energy.
Science is a way of explaining how that happens but science doesn’t explain why it happened in the first place. Science explains everything after the big bang pretty well, but it can’t explain what was there before the big bang – many people think that god may have had a role in that, but there is no direct evidence for this.
This is one of the BIG questions in science and religion and both have their strong points.

      hi whiteley again!
i believe that the aerth was created from a disc of material that surrounded the sun just after the suns formation. The material in this disc slowly clumped together to form the planets. Astronomers have found evidence of these ‘acretion’ disc around other stars so it seems highly likely that this was how the earth was formed!
