      Hi,
      Thanks for your question.
      I like to think I do my bit for the environment. In my own life, I do all of the usaul stuff: recycling, energy saving light bulbs, etc.
      As a scientist, a lot of my work is on looking for ways to control diseases and pests of plants without using chemical pesticides and fungicides. These chemicals are, if used correctly, usually fine. But if they are misused or overused they can damage the environment as well as human and animal health.
      By developing ways to control the plant diseases and pests using natural, biological control agents, hopefully I’m reducing the amount of chemicals used in agriculture which can only be a good thing for the environment.
