      Hi Whiteley
I think you probably mean ‘cataract’. This is when your lens, which is near the front of your eye, becomes cloudy and blocks your vision. This can happen as a complication of diabetes, it can also be genetic, and can happen simply as a consequence of old age. The good news is that it can be easily removed in a quick operation and a false lens inserted. The important part of the back of the eye is completely unaffected so after the operation people can have excellent eyesight again.

A cataract is a clouding or misting up of the lens in your eye that stops the passage of light through to the retina (back of your eye – detects light) and therefore hinders sight. My dog (take a look at my profile pic) is a brilliant examplar of this, see his eyes look kinda shiny? that’s light being reflected back by his cloudy lenses. It can be sorted by a simple operation to replace the lens.

      Hi,
      Do you mean Cataracts ?
If so, they are problems with eyesight that cause loss of vision. Steve may know a bit more than I do on the subject.
